Terms of Service

Welcome to RulesForge. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the operator of RulesForge (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using RulesForge, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What RulesForge is
RulesForge is an interactive storytelling and tabletop roleplaying app. An AI acts as the Game Master: it narrates adventures, responds to your choices, and generates story content. You can play alone, in multiplayer rooms with other players, build your own game systems, and take part in community forums.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account.
3. AI-generated content
Story text in RulesForge is generated by artificial intelligence. AI content can be inaccurate, unexpected, or fictional in ways that feel real — it is entertainment, not advice. While we apply reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee that AI output will always be appropriate for every audience. If you encounter content that concerns you, you can end the story or contact us.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create: your characters, scenarios, custom game systems, library entries, forum posts, and messages. By posting or submitting content, you give us the limited rights needed to operate the service — storing it, displaying it to you and (where you choose, e.g. multiplayer rooms or forums) to other players, and processing it with AI providers to generate your stories.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use RulesForge to harass, threaten, or abuse others; to post content that is illegal, hateful, or sexually exploitative of minors; to attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service; or to infringe someone else's intellectual property. Multiplayer rooms and forums are shared spaces — treat other players with respect. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
6. Subscriptions, points, and purchases
Some features may require a paid subscription or point packs, handled through our payment provider (Stripe). Prices and what each plan includes are shown before you buy. You can cancel a subscription at any time; it stays active until the end of the paid period. If a story action you paid points for fails on our side, those points are automatically refunded to your balance.
6a. Refund policy
Subscriptions: canceling stops future charges; your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and we do not issue partial refunds for unused time unless the law where you live requires it. Point packs: refundable within 14 days of purchase if none of the points have been used; once points from a pack are spent, we may at our discretion issue a partial refund for the unused portion (with a matching deduction of the remaining points), and are otherwise not obliged to refund except where required by law. If a charge looks wrong or duplicated, contact support and we will make it right. Refunds, when issued, go back to the original payment method via our payment provider (Stripe).
7. Bring-your-own API keys
You may optionally connect your own AI provider API key. If you do, your usage of that provider is governed by your agreement with them and billed by them directly. Keep your key secret; you are responsible for charges it incurs.
8. Service availability and changes
We work to keep RulesForge available and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is” without warranties. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. We are not liable for indirect damages or lost data to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Ending your account
You may stop using RulesForge at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends; some data may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will let you know in the app. Continuing to use RulesForge after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
