RulesForge is a shared table. These rules explain, in plain language, what is not allowed, how reporting and moderation work, and what enforcement looks like. They apply everywhere players interact: multiplayer rooms, forums, direct messages, voice, shared content, and the Seasonal World. They sit alongside our Terms of Service — the acceptable-use section there is the binding version of these rules.
1. What's not allowed
Do not harass, threaten, or abuse other players. Do not post content that is illegal, hateful, or sexually exploitative of minors — that last one results in an immediate, permanent ban and, where required, a report to authorities. Do not attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, and do not infringe someone else's intellectual property. Multiplayer rooms and forums are shared spaces: treat the people in them with respect.
2. How reporting works
Player profiles, forum threads and replies, and multiplayer rooms all have a report option (the flag icon). Pick a reason, add a note if it helps, and submit. Your report goes into a moderation queue and is reviewed by a human moderator — nothing is punished automatically based on a report alone. You can file one open report per target; if it's already in the queue you'll see a friendly note, and you can withdraw a report while it is still open. Reports are confidential: the person you report is not told who filed it.
3. What enforcement looks like
When a moderator reviews a report (or finds a violation another way), the response depends on severity and history: they may remove or unshare content, warn or restrict the account involved, permanently ban the account, or close the report if no action is needed. Serious violations — threats, child-safety issues, ban evasion — skip the ladder and go straight to a ban. Banned accounts lose access to the service.
4. Blocking other players
You can block any player from their profile. A block works both ways: neither of you can send the other direct messages, friend requests, or calls, and in shared voice spaces you won't hear or be heard by each other. Blocking is private and instant — it does not require a moderator.
5. 18+ content boundaries
Adult (18+) areas are gated by the date of birth on your account — no date of birth means no access, closed by default. The gate applies to 18+ forum boards (including their sub-boards), to shared stories, scenarios, and game systems (which carry age ratings), to multiplayer room ratings, and to the Seasonal World, which requires a verified adult date of birth to enter. Adult content is never allowed to involve minors, real or fictional, and content that is illegal anywhere it is served is not allowed even in 18+ spaces.
6. Shared content review
Anything you share publicly — stories, scenarios, game systems — passes an automated content review before other players can see it, and receives an age rating. If a shared item's public details are later edited, it is reviewed again; content that no longer passes is unshared. Multiplayer rooms get the same rating review when they are created.
7. Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was wrong — content removed, an account restricted or banned — you can appeal by contacting support: use the support email link on the Account screen, or the support contact listed on rulesforge.net if you can no longer sign in. Include your @username and what the appeal is about. A human will review it.
